Still debating what model to buy, THIS IS IT!

Review Date: June 29, 2009
Reviewer: William N. Harris III, Providence, RI
After spending way too much time researching and viewing these TVs at big box stores, I eventually bought this set from Amazon, and could not be happier.

I was in the plasma vs LCD debate for a while and decided that I needed/wanted the brightness of an LCD, didn't want to worry about any burn in issues (I know they are almost non-existent today anyway). I wanted 1080p and most plasma sets with 1080p are close to this price point as well. I debated for about a month between last years ln52a630 and the ln52a750, and which one to buy. The matte screen on the 630 was its highlight for me, but there was a sacrifice in the contrast ratio and other miscellaneous little "bells and whistles". The A750 being the more expensive model, the price point dropped so much, it was now pretty much an even swap. Hearing about the problems associated with the 750 including glare, halo and TOC flaking issues, I decided the 630 with its matte screen was the TV for me.

So, I price shopped the A630 for a few weeks until I stumbled across the new version of the set, the ln52b630. A little more money is WELL spent when upgrading to this TV. The contrast ratio is double 40,000:1 vs 80,000:1, and even dominates last years 50,000:1 A750's contrast ratio. Again, this TV also has the MATTE SCREEN! Almost no glare issues in my very bright viewing room, that has multiple windows and a sliding glass door.

The TV's picture quality is the best my friends and I have seen so far from an LCD. Deepest blacks and brightest brights are the comments I have been hearing when people see this TV in operation. The clarity in blu-ray 1080p with 120hz is breathtaking, you almost don't want to take your eyes off the screen. I have it connected to Dish Network's HD service and the PQ in 1080i is also superb, a slight loss in clarity and blur in fast moving sequences that is non-existent in 1080p. Standard def programing also looks great as well.

As far as audio, I have it setup through surround sound, so I cannot comment.

I have yet to connect an ethernet cable to use those features as well.
**UPDATE** I have attached the ethernet cable and the "infolink" features do work as advertised. It is a nice feature, news stories, temperature/weather, stocks all positioned in the corners of the screen. Will i ever use it, probably not. But, it works as advertised. I wish it was a way to update firmware for the TV rather than for these features.

The USB media port is another excellent feature. It allows you to play movies, music and pictures directly from the side of the TV with a USB flash drive or external hard drive. It will play almost any codec you throw at it, supposedly even x264(HD), have not been able to test this.

The remote is nicely designed and easy to use. Samsung eliminated the dreaded "click-wheel' on this years new models.

Delivery: Pilot was my shipping service, and I cannot say anything bad about the service. The delivered early and made the necessary phone calls to arrange delivery. The box was in great shape, as well as the TV inside.

Samsung LN52B630 is Awesome - We love it!

Background:
I have been researching and holding out for a new TV upgrade over the past 2 years. Samsung was one of the very few manufacturers that offered the matte non-glare screens, which is necessary in our sunlight-filled living room. But I was always waiting for the right price. So when I was about to get the LN52A630, I heard about the new B series being released in 2009. So I had to wait for it with 120Hz of refresh and an upgrade from a dynamic contrast ratio of 40,000:1 to 80,000:1. Plus the look and shape of the B series seemed so much nicer to me than the A series. So Amazon had offered a free Sony blu-ray player with the purchase of certain Samsung models (including the LN52B630), and that was my cue to finally place my order on 7/4/09.

Delivery:
When I placed our order I originally set the delivery date for 7/15/09. Once I got the CEVA tracking number from Amazon's shipping notification email, I started to track our TV. It turns out one of their warehouses is located in PA and very close to NJ. Our TV was right in our vicinity on 7/7/09. So I gave CEVA a call about delivering early and they were more than happy to deliver the TV on 7/10/09. The delivery went well, and the communication I had with CEVA was great. The guys brought the TV up three flights of stairs, set up the TV on the stand, gently placed the TV on our console, plugged it in and then turned it on...

Picture - We started to switch channels to see how it looked. The picture is truly amazing. The default settings really do make movies look like a soap opera, which is really weird and fascinating at the same time. It does take some time to find the right settings for your environment and input type. It's great that once the settings are adjusted for a certain input it keeps the settings. There are so many different settings as well, which allow for a lot of flexibility to adjust for a certain device input. For cable we have the TV set on natural and AMP on clear. HD cable is great and standard cable is pretty good on a huge LCD screen. XBOX is on game mode and looks wonderful. My husband was dying to try Call of Duty on it and was totally blown away by the colors and picture on the screen. When it was time to check out the blu-ray, we played Baraka (which I totally recommend to appreciate the 1080p experience). It was unreal! The picture was stunning and the detail was unbelievable. It was like we were there in person.

Sound - Even though we have our B630 hooked to our surround sound receiver, I tested the sound from the TV. It's not bad and the volume is pretty decent, actually pretty loud even at half way.

Other - The B630 is a really attractive TV. Everyone has commented on the touch of red and thinks it's really cool. The available inputs are quite sufficient. Swivel stand is terrific for when I'm in the kitchen cooking or to just swivel around dependent on my whereabouts. The swivel stand is also a plus when getting to the back of the TV to easily work on the cables and inputs. Viewing angles are pretty good. Matte non-glare screen is wonderful too; there is no need to shut the shades during the day any more. Tested out the USB input with an external hard drive on media play and found the response time pretty fast for a television. The media play mode is quite intuitive and easy to use. Photos look amazing as well. I did notice the auto dimming during credits of movies and black screens. This happens when the Energy Saving option is used. We set the option to off and now the dimming is non-existent. InfoLink via ethernet is a nice feature, but limiting. I hope that Samsung makes an update to allow more widgets and online viewing. BTW, the ethernet is great for getting available firmware updates from Samsung. Firmware v1009 was available for download and the update was quick and seamless. Since I didn't have the TV long enough, I don't know what the firmware update improved, but the TV is working just fine.

We love our Samsung LN52B630. I have to shamefully admit that I have fallen asleep in front of TV almost every night for the past 12 days. My husband would normally be jealous, but he also shares the same feelings I have for our new TV. We highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. The TV has surpassed all of our expectations. Amazon has allowed us to have it at a terrific price and offered free great white glove delivery service as well. It's a winning combination and we couldn't be happier.
Awesome TV

Reviewer: P. Butler,
We were looking for a 55" matte screen lcd tv, but there doesn't seem to be any. I came across this 52" & took a chance, I couldn't find it in our local stores. I am very pleased with it, the picture is great. I am not an expert, so I can't give a detailed review. I can say that my husband said it has a heck of a picture (the HD is great).
I also wanted to comment on the delivery. I have read reviews on other tvs that gave bad reviews to pilot service. When I first got the email saying it would be delivered by pilot, I expected the worst. There service was great, they set it up in the room I requested, attached the stand & checked for a blue screen & I verified no damage before I signed. They also took away the packaging.
Also, Kudos to Amazon. I ordered the TV on Wednesday & it was delivered Friday. I couldn't ask for more. I am happy with the tv & Amazon's service.
Great TV!

Solid LCD HDTV with a great set of features. Sound is decent, picture is amazing, and the menus are intuitive and accessible. Remote is well-designed and lights up in the dark. Got it 5 weeks ago, and with very few tweaks have enjoyed DVDs, HD programming, and Blu-ray. I plugged my cable feed directly into the TV, and with no cable box I get about 10 HD channels in addition to my normal channel lineup.

The swivel stand is sturdy and adjustable, and the 120Hz refresh rate is all you need for watching sports without blurring. Screen does not reflect much and picture is vivid even in bright sunlit rooms.

The Infolink feature is useless--if I want to check the weather or stock prices, I'll change the channel or jump on the web.

Pilot delivery service was extremely fast, coming the day after I placed my order, and the two guys were in and out in ten minutes.

I got this when Amazon was offering a free Blu-ray player with it. All told, a fantastic TV and flawless purchase experience from order to delivery. Buy this baby, you won't regret it!
Paid a little extra for Samsung... well worth it

Reviewer: Duke of Hazards,
Got a $[...] windfall of cash in Oct. 2009 and my wife had green-lighted a bigger TV purchase so w/ money in hand, I began my quest for the ideal TV.... I am an admitted research freak so of course I created my multi-columned spreadsheet and began scouring the internet for information. We had been using a 2005 Samsung 32" LCD as our main family room TV (due to financial constraints when we bought our new house)... of course, I had done my research on that TV and it had proven to be a good purchase, so Samsung was already on the top of my short list.

I could have gone w/ a cheaper Sharp or the 55-inch LG, but ultimately decided to spend a couple-few hundred more for the LN52B630 and not second guess myself later. BTW, my wife had seen her friend's LN52A650 and loved the red touch of color bezel, so the extra cost was easy to sell.

Anyway, in case you haven't fallen asleep, the LN52B630 is awesome. Blacks and contrast blow away our old TV (after setting adjustments..more later). At first, I was a little thrown off with the 120hz (I'm not a big fan of the 'hyper-real soap-opera' effect that some 120hz TV's display)... However, on this TV, you can manually adjust the 2 sub-settings on the 120Hz 'AMP' (Auto Motion Plus) feature... I read a review from some canadian guy and he suggested setting the AMP to 'CUSTOM' and then separately turning the 'blur reduction' up to a fairly high setting (7 thru 10) and turning the 'anti-judder' effect down to '0'.... bingo! Smooth 120hz refreshed picture without the weirdness.

You will also need to tinker with the settings (TV is on Showroom bright out of the box).. you'll want to turn the brightness and backlight down by a lot and consider turning off some of the other misc. processing modes.... I'd recommend getting a calibration DVD or having a tech tune it to get optimal picture.

One thing I've found is that the bigger and better the TV, the more you can tell the quality of the source material.
HiDef content looks fantastic (the higher the better) as do video games. SD looks eh... well... kinda like crap. Can't wait till it goes away. I can now see the diff. between 1080i and 720p. Anything 1080i looks brilliant and Blu-Ray... wow! To be honest, when I first got my PS3, I really couldn't tell the difference between Blu-Ray and upconverted DVD on my old 32" Sammy. Both looked great... but on this 52"... you can really see the difference. Blu-Ray - wow! it's mind-blowing. and it handles it at the orig. 24p.

I could go on and on... it's a great set. The only minor gripe I have is the inability to save your picture tuning preferences as a 'CUSTOM' saved setting and naming it something, which means that if I want to change the settings to watch football vs. watch a Blu-Ray movie, I have to manually calibrate everything (I used a cheatsheet).

So happy I bought another Sammy (BTW - got mine on 10/24/09 at Fry's Electronics for $1399+tax)

Ultimate, cheap, HD dorm TV

Review Date: August 8, 2009
Reviewer: DVyas,
I ordered this TV on Thanksgiving night 2008 from OfficeMax. I had it sent to my dorm in Berkeley. This TV totally does its job. It acts as a great second monitor and as a great TV. The local HD channels look great on this thing (when I have my antenna properly adjusted). I also use it to play my Wii games. Using component cables, this TV excellently converts the 480p video output from my Wii to match the 1080p resolution of the screen, the video does not feel laggy or grainy. Also it remembers whether you prefer 4:3 or 16:9 for you SD TV viewing, so you don't have to keep resetting your preference each time you start it up like on lower-quality TVs

(side note: I don't know how anyone can stand to watch SDTV stretched to 16:9 when it is meant to be 4:3, it makes everyone look short and fat)

The only con I can see with this TV is that it lacks composite and S-Video inputs. The DVI, VGA, and 2 HDMI inputs are great, but that lack of a second component input or any composite inputs makes it difficult to use multiple non-HD devices on it.

I strongly recommend this TV.
Great as a monitor, but make sure you set HDMI 1 as PC

Reviewer: E. Loehr,
If you are going to use this as a monitor with a computer using an HDMI output, go to "Menu" "Input" then drop down to "Edit Name" and select that. Then choose "HDMI1" and scroll down and select "PC." This will correct the display for the PC text. Once I figured this out, I was very happy with my purchase. Beautiful picture!
I already spend to much time in the kitchen!

I installed this TV behind the sink in my kitchen. I thought maybe I could watch the news while I washed the dishes. I now have a tall stool in my kitchen and watch TV way too much. This is simply one of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen, and I'm a Photographer. This is bargain for the money. The sound is good, it would be nice if the sound amp was a little bigger. But if it was, then I would never leave the kitchen. "Perfect" for the job and place is an under statement. Makes me want to have two kitchens, LOL. Hmm, maybe the bathroom. Then I would be Fat and Clean. BTW 24" would have been to tall to fit under the cabinets.
Great TV and PC monitor.

The Samsung 2333HD 23in LCD TV HDTV 1080p is simply the best overall Full HDTV on the market for the price. I picked this TV up at Staples for only $249.00. It is full HD which means that all of the major Network news and sports programs completely fill up the screen in high definition at 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is simply an amazing picture for this price. The added bonus is that it can hook up to your pc to extend or mirror your screen. I have a laptop pc and I use the 2333HD as an extension of my desktop which is 1600 x 1200. It is real nice to have that much desktop space when working with multiple documents and programs. The back of the TV has component color inputs for a DVD player as well as HDMI and DVI inputs for other video components. Samsung really rules this end of the market. I only wish they had kept the picture in picture that they had in the 20" MP unit in 2005. They discontinue models frequently and it is sad that some units do not survive the market because of competition of the demands of consumers.
Best 1080P I've witnessed!

I'm a Blu-ray aficionado. But I let my wife have use of our living room tv to watch her shows from our DVR. I connect a long HDMI cable from our Samsung (BDP1590C) Blu-ray player to this 23" TV. I sit about 18-23" away from the screen and watch my Netflix Blu-rays with headphones! WOW, and WOW! I'm in my own IMAX world. Totally immersed in the film with nearly 60 degrees of lateral visual field. I like the physical buttons on the right edge of the unit. I've tried other Samsungs with the lighted touch panel buttons on the front, and were not impressed. We also use this for our computer via DVI. Toggling back and forth is easy with the top right button. I use earphones to watch my films. Also, it's not mentioned, but this TV does pick up and display 24fps, added bonus, booyah...

Knockout TV set

Review Date: August 17, 2009
Reviewer: Just a photog, Loess Hills

We replaced an 18 year old 27" CRT set with this one and it's a beauty. I am a TV news cameraman with thirty years in the business so I look at a lot of high end monitors at work.
When I went to the store I didn't expect to get a great set in this size and frankly 720P didn't excite me much either.
After looking at top tier sets from Sony, LG, Samsung, Toshiba and Mitsubishi I ended up on the Panasonic.
I was shocked at how good all the upper tier sets looked but the Panasonic seemed to have a little better detail down in the blacks and seemed to track highly detailed scenes with less digital noise than the others, but it was close accross the board.
The off air ATSC tuner is excellent and the set has all the inputs you could reasonably need. I do not intend to plug in an iPod so that wasn't a factor in my choice.
My DVD player is older and does not pass audio through the HDMI output so I connected it to the set via the component outs and I feel no need at all to upgrade to a BlueRay player. At this size this is a wonderful combination.
My general feeling is that if you watch a lot of HDTV that is live or tape such as sports then Panasonic flat screens just seem to pull a little more quality out of the signal. For movies it is more of a level playing field.
This is pretty subjective but it's how I see it.
It's amazing how far your money goes in this stuff anymore.
Works Great, perfectly fits the budget!

We have a 50" Sony SXRD Projection TV in which we paid over $5,000 for including the stand! I love the TV but when your Electricity bill is over $300.00, you need to find ways of cutting down on the utilities. Besides that, this TV needs to have its projection lamp replaced once a year at the cost of over $300! Even at discount places, this lamp is still over $250! Think about replacing that lamp every year. In no time, you would have spent enough to purchase a brand new 40 - 50 inch LCD TV. This Panasonic TV is not only smaller but Star Energy rated, so that should save some on the energy cost.

In the bedroom was an old Toshiba 13" CRT type TV and watching movies on it wasn't much fun, so what better time to replace the bedroom TV. Since I'm retired and have a limited income, my budget was under $350 and this fits the budget perfectly.

I read somewhere that the size of the TV one should buy should be based on the distance (in inches) from the TV to where you'll be sitting; divided by 2.5. After measuring the distance, I came up with 80", divided by 2.5 and it comes out to 32 inches. A 32" TV would have been perfect but too big for the stand I wanted it to sit on, so I settled for this TV and I'm a happy camper! Besides, it would have been beyond my budget! I do wonder however if this is just another advertising ploy to sell you a larger unit? I think that dividing the distance by 3 works out just as well.

In comparison, the Sony has a softer smoother image while the picture on this TV is more vivid and has more contrast. Having worked at a large Electronic Store, I have noticed that most people prefer a brighter more contrasting image when it comes to TVs and monitors. I still prefer the Sony because the picture (to me) is a bit more realistic but that's just a minor complaint.

One concern was choosing between a 1080P and 720P monitor. But from what I've been told, it makes a difference on a larger TV (40" or more), but not so much with the smaller screens. I tend to agree with that since it's all about the number of pixels (dots), the distance between each pixel and their size. Have you ever noticed on the old CRT TV's that the smaller the TV, the better the picture quality? That's because (without getting too technical) there's a set number of pixels horizontally and vertically on a CRT, and the smaller and closer the pixels are, the better the image. On the smaller screen size, the pixels are smaller and closer together which makes the images clearer. The number of pixels does make a difference, but only to a certain extent. It depends on the area to be filled. On this size TV, the 720P works very well and you won't see a major difference if it had 1080P.

Another concern was whether to purchase a new DVD player. Hooking up an old standard DVD player to an HDTV didn't make any sense. So I had to consider a Blu Ray or an up-converting DVD player. That was an easy decision since we have about 2000 standard DVD's. Replacing all those with the Blu Ray equivalent would get costly (about 10-20 grand), so an up converting DVD player was the obvious choice

So I purchased the Sony HDMI DVP NS710H up-converting player, and combined with this TV, works great! The picture is stunning and I couldn't be happier. No, it's not quite as good as having Blu Ray, but it does improve the image of a standard DVD considerably. However, the up-conversion only works if you hook it up via an HDMI cable. So please be aware of that!

You can hook your PC video output to this T.V. via a 15 pin VGA cable and the image looks fairly decent, but you may have to adjust the Horizontal and the Vertical positions on the TV, and the resolution on your graphics card as well. The native resolution for this T.V. is 1366 x 768, but you can try the different resolutions that your graphics card has to offer and find one to your liking. The process is fairly simple if you have the right cables and a 15 pin VGA output plug on your PC. However some of the newer graphics cards only have DVI outputs, so you will have to get a DVI to VGA converter. Right now, I have this set up to output my Netflix movies to this T.V.

(Addendum as of Jan 16, 2010) I now have a Roku HD player for watching Netflix and Amazon movies and it works wonderful. Now I don't have to mess around with flipping back and forth from Computer monitor to the T.V. It was becoming a pain and the PC is unusable while it was being used to stream in the movies. The only thing you should be aware of is that you NEED some kind of a router for it to access the internet and use HDMI cable instead of the provided composite cable for best results.

In regards to the poor viewing angle; It IS disturbing that the description of this TV states that the wide 178 degree viewing angle ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. This is clearly not the case as far as my TV is concerned. Well maybe to their point of view, having a clear image versus a washed out image are two different things. However again, it's a minor complaint because how often are you going to watch it from the sides?

Picture Quality (when hooked up to Cable, DSL, Antenna)?
Excellent IF you're getting good reception from your provider. But keep in mind that if your reception is poor, this TV will NOT improve the image quality. In the copy world it's referred to as "Garbage In, Garbage Out". That simply means that if you try and copy an illegible image or text, don't expect the copier to suddenly make it clearer and sharper. I am not aware of any TV that has what may be called an "Image Clarifier" but may be possible in the future. But as of now we know that NOT all channels will come in clear, and so this TV will only output what's coming in.

Sound Volume? It has plenty for a bedroom. In fact, I had it on a little over halfway and my wife who was in another room downstairs asked me to turn the volume down. However, audio output is only 10 Watts (5W +5W) and the speakers are located underneath: to the left and to the right of the stand. So this TV is meant for a bedroom or a similar environment. It is not meant to be the main TV in a large room connected to a surround sound system. That, I have on my 50" Sony TV. It is also not meant for a noisy environment such as a garage while you're working on your table saw or doing laundry, or in a Kitchen while you're running the garbage disposal or the dishwasher. No, it's not meant to compete with other surrounding noises. So please keep that in mind when making your purchasing decision.

Outputting TV sound to a sound system or Speakers: It DOESN'T have a Headphone Jack, and please be aware that this can only be done via an OPTICAL cable. So whatever you're connecting it into must have an OPTICAL (Toslink) input. You can purchase a third party converter such as the GENFEN but be aware that there are two versions (The cheaper model does NOT convert Hi-Def (5-1 Dolby Surround Sound) audio. Another option is to purchase one of the Behringer MS### Speakers which has an Optical input.

The SD card viewer: Would have been nicer if they had a USB port instead where you can plug in a flash drive or an SD card reader. There are so many different types and sizes of SD cards that if you don't have the right size, it won't work. As an example, I have a Nikon D200 (uses an SD card) and an Olympus C3040 Camedia Camera (uses a Smartmedia card) and neither one will fit into the TV's card reader. I could purchase the right size SD card, insert it into my SD card reader and transfer pictures into it, but why go through the extra expense and effort?

The IPOD Docking Station: I don't have an IPOD, but I'm willing to bet that it's a nifty little feature that a lot of people can use. Lots of people out there with IPODS! I have the less expensive Sandisk for listening to music while I work outside or walk and it serves me well.

The Controller: Easy to read with LARGE LEGIBLE buttons for Old tired eyes like mine! Two of my favorites are LAST (to flip back and forth from the last channel watched) and MUTE (for those annoying commercials!)

I know that this has been a lenghty review, but I hope that I've given you enough information for you to make an intelligent purchasing decision. I love this TV and would highly recommend it for it's picture quality, stylish look and it wasn't too long ago that you couldn't touch an LCD T.V. like this at this price! AWESOME!
Fantastic TV

I just received this TV yesterday and all I can say so far is WOW!!!!

It is in our bedroom and looks great (picture and aesthetics wise). The iPod dock is also very nice. The sound is excellent for a small (?) TV.

One thing to note. Unless you are a magician, be sure to use long needle nose pliers to get the screws started into the stand/base when attaching it to the TV. Very hard to do with just a screw driver.

My only complaint so far is that the sleeper timer does not have a dedicated button on the remote. You have to go into 2 different menu screens to get to it. My way around that was to set each of the 5 timers the TV has so that each one goes off at 11pm Sunday night through Thursday night. This obviously is not an issue if you are using it somewhere other than a bedroom.

P.S. - Don't be swayed by the talk about size of your TV and the viewing distance. This 26" is a perfect size for our bedroom (sits on 5 drawer dresser about 12ft from my pillow). The charts for LCD TVs had me at a 42" minimum, which is not true IMHO.
Panasonic TC-L26X1 LCD

Very good 26" LCD television and is just the right size in our guest bedroom..... I believe that Panasonic beats them all hands down.... we replaced our very old CRT TV with this new light weight LCD and it does not take up as much space as the old unit did........ in my own opinion, this Panasonic LCD has the best picture and sound over the other brands, and I did a lot of comparing before buying ..... I really like the timer feature too...... the set-up menu and features are very user friendly. The remote is not lit... has no internal light... but I don't think any of them have an internal light..... not a complaint, but the remote has more stuff on it than I will ever use.... I have owned my 42" Plasma Panasonic for over 2 years now and I am very satisfied with it too.... The plasma has a little bit of a better picture, colors are more vivid, than a LCD has but a plasma also cost more money too.... and a plasma weighs more and uses more power than a LCD TV... This TV only comes in glossy black, the frame and base, which looks very nice but shows every speck of dust. I even called Panasonic and complained about that.....for not offering an alternate color like silver or gray.... I think that most all of the other brands, under 42", also come in only glossy black this year..... oh well.... my wife doesn't mind the glossy black..... Last month I purchased the TC-L32X1 for our bedroom and we liked it so well that we bought the TC-L26X1 LCD in the 26' size for the guest bedroom...... this TV also comes with a dock for plugging in your ipod but I'm not into any of that stuff so I can't say how well it works.... sorry... I have also posted a picture of our new TV here and that's my soda pop can next to the TV so you can get an idea of the size, etc.... and the President just happen to be on the news when I snapped the picture..... I recommend this Panasonic TC-L26X1 LCD TV...... they are very nice and well worth the little extra money over the other brands......
Setup hint for attaching stand

Reviewer: Nahant Rocks,
Great TV, a nice replacement for a recently deceased Sony Trinitron (RIP, old friend). Setup was straightforward, all went smoothly once we got it put together.

Thanks to previous reviewers, I expected some issues with attaching the stand to the TV itself and was not disappointed. There are 4 short bolts that you have to insert, that connect the stand to the TV frame. The threaded holes for each bolt are at the end of a 1- to 2-inch deep (or so) tunnel in the back of the TV frame, so you can't get them started by just screwing them in with your fingers and finishing up with a screwdriver. The manual suggests that you do this by laying the TV screen-down on a towel, but (unless you have a magnetized phillips head screwdriver, maybe - I don't) the bolts just fall sideways off the screwdriver, down into the bottom of the well, with no easy way to get the bolts started in their holes. I have needle-nose pliers but they weren't useful - tunnels too narrow.

Instead, I started with the TV screen-down on a towel on a table, slid the stand into position in its slot on the frame, then carefully rotated the TV and stand upright. That way, I could use my "fat" phillips-head screwdriver to balance the bolt on the end of the screwdriver, and carefully insert the bolt on the tip of the screwdriver, horizontally into the tunnel. Even though you can't see where you're aiming, it wasn't hard to find the holes and all 4 went it quickly doing it that way.

Great Buy

Reviewer: Deal Seeker,
I like others here purchased this TV as a Today's Deal on the 15th for $390 and was extremely pleased to receive it within 24 hours of purchase, kudos to Amazon! I am by no means a technical person, my son normally sets up everything for me, however, I had this set up within 10 minutes. I do not have this hooked up to a HD receiver as yet, standard Direct TV receiver, and the picture is excellent. I am not sure why there is so many remarks about sound, it sounds great to me. I did not purchase to play games or use as a computer monitor, just to watch TV in my home office. Bottom line, great buy for my needs and I would recommend to other consumers.

Since this was my first HD flat screen purchase, I spent weeks stalking the web and retailers for a 32" with great features and price. I love Toshiba's, but my budget didn't,(sold my 7-yr-old model and hated to see it go) so my search was limited to 720p,...or so i thought...until, I spotted this FANTASTIC "deal-of-the day" on 1/15 and snagged one up pronto.

The TV shipped free and arrived at 2:00PM the next day! WOW! So, it was simple to set-up and although it's only 3 days later, I am confident I won't be complaining because this TV has phenominal picture and sound quality and we saved money.

It's a perfect fit for our Family Room and our budget. I'm thinking my new Toshiba will be around a while.
WOW!

Reviewer: Tim Collins,
I purchased this Toshiba 32 inch LCD TV on 1-15-10. It was a "Gold Box" deal of the day. Even without the special price, I still believe it is superbly priced. This TV is one of the few 32" LCD TVs on the market that is in full HD, (1080P). There are a total of (7) A/V inputs on this set. THREE HDMI, two component, one s-video, and one composite video, just about all the inputs you will need. I must say, this TV is excellent. Great picture, AND great sound! It does not come with a headphone jack in case some of you were wondering. No problem for me, since I have no use for one. The set is stylish, with a piano black bezel. This TV can be wall mounted if you prefer, since the holes are already drilled for a wall mount. You can turn the "lighted" Toshiba name on the bottom of the front of the TV on or off, whichever you prefer, in case the light distracts you. This set comes with a "Gaming Mode" if you want to use that feature when you play video games. The remote is about 7-8" long, and is well placed. The remote is however, not lit. Personally, I don't believe you can get a better LCD TV for the money.
What a deal

I also purchased as a gold box deal - took it out of the box, attached the pedistal, hooked up the cable and plugged it in - no adjustments needed at all. Works great, sound is just fine for the bedroom and I am very happy. And I don't even have an HD cable box hooked up to it yet! I feel the TV is a great value.
An Excellent Value

Reviewer: GBS,
If you are looking for a bedroom TV and/or don't want to spend big bucks for a Samsung, definitely consider this one. For a 32 inch 1080 TV with a brand name (Toshiba) that's been around, this is a fantastic value at ~ $400. Picture and sound are very good, and it has plenty of useful features, including the ability to pull cable HD channels without a decoder box. You likely won't get everything the provider offers, but count on the major broadcast networks at a minimum. Anyway, this one spends most of its time hooked to the Roku box watching Netflix movies. Use the HDMI inputs for best results.

Quality mount -- not cheap but low-cost (by design). Like it.

Review Date: June 3, 2009
Reviewer: Young, San Jose, CA, USA
I was skeptical of this mount. Why should this be so cheap compared to other mounting kits? I ordered one (due to the price), and prepared to return it if I did not think the mount could handle the weight of the 52" LCD TV (Samsung).

Once I got it, I understood the cost. Good low-cost design and built with solid heavy duty steel.
- Two horizontal bars are load-bearing, and for proper VESA spacing, they have to be parallel and relative distance must be in the right tolerances. These are made of solid steel.
- Two vertical bars (in the wall mount) are flimsey, and that's ok. it should be solid enough make a rectangle box w/ square angles. That's it.
- Two vertical mounting (to the TV) brackets are of heavy duty metal. Making this in to two parts (not one), reduction of material, but also allows free horizontal adjustment on the TV mount.
- By doing the above, the kit is small, uses less metal (and reduce shipping and material waste).

Positives
---------
1. Good solid and heavy duty construction.

2. Good value (low-cost). Paid less than $ 25 including shipping.

3. Easy install. Took 15 min to figure out the instruction (which is not totally clear), and 10~15 min to install and ready to watch.

4. built-in level worked well during marking of mouting holes on the wall --I tested w/ my own, and was consistent.

5. Once the mounted on the wall, and bracket on TV, you could adjust horizontal TV placement on the mount, just by sliding few inches left or right, post install. I expect this to be safe and true if the wall mount is directly screwed into the wall studs. I do not expect dry-wall install without the use of the studs to handle such adjustment.

6. The brackets on TV could also be used to adjust vertical TV placement by a few inches up and down. But for this one, you'll need to lift TV off the bracket and adjust and pull back :-).

7. There is a reasonable space (I would say, just right) from the wall to the TV to get cables/connectors through WITHOUT using any expensive 90 degree connectors. Plenty of space between two horizontal bars to put extra power outlet and data HDMI cable outlet to hide all the cables.

8. This supports tilt up/down, and works well. Amazon product description does not make it clear.

Negatives
---------
1. Just one. Clearer instruction so that I do not need to spend 15 min figuring things out. One could learn a lot form IKEA :-).
2. Packing/Packaging -- Not necessarily Cheetah Mount issue -- mine came w/o missing parts, although I noticed torn cardboard box edges and some parts COULD have been lost during shipping. Either double box, or have Cheetah use heavier box stock.

Helpful Hints & Comments
-------------------------
1. DO NOT forget to tighten the screws (2) on the bottom horizontal bars AFTER TV is placed on the wall mount -- especially if you are in CA w/ quake. This is what prevents TV falling off the mount accidentally. But do not over-tighten (you are NOT securing from left-to-right movement).
2. Very happy w/ my purchase. Will get one more for my other TV.
Great TV Mount

The Cheetah mount is an incredible value. The mount is amazingly sturdy and very well built. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble the parts out of the box. Then another hour to mount the TV to the brick above our fireplace. I used 4 Quicktap blue masonry anchors to attach the mount to the wall, and it is so secure I could probably hang from the TV itself.

I was also pleased to find that the mount included all of the hardware (bolts, washers, spacers) that you would need to mount almost any VESA compatible flat panel. Our TV is a 52 inch Samsung (750 series) and the bolts I needed were included.

Overall, a great buy.
Are you kidding me? Don't listen to any negative reviews!!

All I have to say is what a deal. I've always read consumer reviews for anything I've bought, but never felt compelled to write a review until now. This product is so cheap for what you get. Any complaints about the product itself lead me to question their expectations. I've learned a lot about consumer reviews by this product. People are whiners. This mount took me less than 1/2 hr to put up and it's rock solid. I saved $150 over a comparable mount at Best Buy! I'm pumped!
I was skeptical...

Reviewer: R. Maggi,
I took a chance, against my better judgment. I asked myself how can a $25 mount compare to a $300 mount? I have 2 girls and I would totally shoot myself if my 52" Sony Bravia (W series) ever fell on one of them. Well, I got this mount and I was already impressed. It is made of this extremely dense, slightly bumpy, but smooth to the touch metal. I mounted the first part to the wall and had my dad, who has owned his own construction company, to test it out. He approved by hanging his 180 lb body from it.

I did have to take a trip to Lowes because the screws to the TV were too long (20 thread). I bought 16 thread and added 2 lock washers, per screw, that already came with the mount. I also spent $30 on a good stud center finder because I wasn't going to mess around.

I feel very confident with this mount and I am very happy to have saved a bunch of money. If you buy this mount, just take your time, watch a few you tube videos about hanging a TV, and use common sense.
excellent quality for the price

I've been installing LCDs and plasmas the last 10 years, and i've seen multitude of brackets of all qualities and prices.
But i'm quite impressed with this one, as is one of the cheapest available and is a really good bracket.
The bracket is solid, and easy to mount, the build in lever is a cool feature (but not very accurate BTW).
Another handy feature is the tilt knobs, that allows you to tilt the bracket (or not) without any tools.
The bracket is relatively flat and light compared with other products and can hold virtually any LCD / PLasma on the market.
I used it with Sharp 52" LCD and works like a charm.
Very good product for the price.
