I was hesitant to buy a LED tv because of the price. But after comparing the bulky looking LCD and plasma, this is much lighter to handle and beautiful to look at and worth the additional cost. I read a lot of reviews on Amazon.com for this product before I bought this TV. A lot of people mentioned something about having problems with images at the corners. I have had the TV for 3 months and have not noticed anything similar to that. The image quality is excellent and the colors are beautiful (specially in the Dynamic setting, the colors are so bright and clear that my eyes start hurting after few minutes of watching. My setting is usually at Standard for watching regular TV programs and ‘movie’ while watching movies.) I didn’t have to make any changes to the TV setting after I removed it from the box. Very easy to setup and has a lot of good features. Have connected my desktop and use it as a PC. So I have not used the infolink features yet. But movies from youtube and other websites are excellent. Very satisfied with the TV. Excellent purchase from Amazon.com with better pricing compared to other retailers. Samsung UN46C5000 46-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LED HDTV (Black) Review

I just got this lovely thang yesterday. I have not played with it that much, but I have done enough to provide a decent review. My main concern with this purchase was that it is 60 Hz. Now that there is 120 and 240, I was not sure if getting 60 was smart. I read a review some where that pointed out that most PC monitors are 60 Hz. My 25 inch monitor is 60 Hz and the picture looks beautiful when I’m playing games or watching movies so I said wth. Last night I watched a NBA game and put on a few movies with intense action scenes… no image blur whatsoever. I love the look of this television and the fact that it is super thin. The controls on the tv itself are touch controls. There are no actual buttons to press. As far as HD goes…the picture, color, and clarity are unbelievable. The picture is so detailed that some of your favorite stars don’t look so hot once you see them in HD. I will be purchasing some sort of sound system for this tv. My PC has a Logitech 2.1 speaker system and I have become spoiled. The sound from this tv is decent but falls way short of what I like. The only real complaint I have about this tv is that the allshare feature which allows you to stream music and video from your PC requires a Samsung USB wireless link which is a little over (unless you hardwire it). I’m sure a regular wireless USB adapter could have done the trick but Samsung forces you to use theirs (which they fail to mention). I really feel that wireless should have been built into the tv in the first place but enough with that rant! Finally, I have to give it to Amazon. just wanted to commment on my new purchase of the the un40b6000. I have been holding off for several years before taking the high definition plunge. I decided on purchasing the samsung edge lit led tv versus just the lcd version. I have to say for the most part I have been very impressed with the picture. right out of the box the tv was easy to setup and not that confusing on the menu options. Everything was pretty straight forward. HDMI cables are so much easier than having to mess with with all of the component and fiberoptic cables. Just plug and play. The picture quality is great and like many other comments have stated it might be to good. I have noticed especially on blue ray movies that the shows have lost their movie look. The picture is so clear that the movie looks like it is being performed on a stage. It is hard to describe in words seeing is truly believing. The only problems that I have run into with this tv is when I hooked up a samsung blueray player. It seems that there is a default program called samsung anynet+. If you dont disable the program from the blueray player it locks up the blueray player. Easy fix if you know the solution. Anyways if you are on the fence with a tv purchase this is a good product. If you can wait on purchasing like any electronics everything will get better and cheaper. The only advice I can give you is that get ready for some extra expenses. HDMI cables are not cheap. However the cheapest cables work just as good as the most expensive. If you are an existing customer with dishnetwork you can negogitate the service fee for having your hd service turned on. Go aheah and get a blueray player with the tv. Even the standard dvds look awesome on it. good luck and hope this review helps. I upgraded from a CRT 1080i HDTV to this TV. I was doing the upgrade for a safety issue (Massive cords sticking out of the TV and no console could hold the TV, isn’t great for little kids)… I really wasn’t thinking it would be that much of a difference going from one HDTV to another. I was very wrong. This is a fantastic TV that made regular DVDs look like HD DVD. The Set-up was super easy. The only knocks are the sound and the preset brightness levels. The sound can’t seem to level out the difference components of a movie or TV show. For example: The voice of the actor of the movie is the same level as the background noise, making it very difficult to hear the actor. We have the benefit of having a receiver with a 5.1 speaker set-up, so this problem doesn’t bother me, but it would if I didn’t have this. Second, the dynamic picture setting tends to be too bright but he movie is too dark. So, it depends what I’m watching as to what I place the settings on. Samsung UN46B8500 46-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LED HDTV Review

I really only use this TV for the display so far (I have external speakers and I haven’t yet connected it to the Internet), so I can really only comment on the setup and picture quality.

As for the picture performance the display is absolutely stunning. When I calibrated it, I really didn’t have to change many settings at all. The preset modes are very reasonable (a problem with many TV’s that have default settings that do great at catching your eye in the store but look awful in your living room). I did find the Auto Motion Plus feature kind of disturbing. Watching movies with this feature at its default settings is pretty eerie. It makes things look like a home movie. I’d recommend using the “custom” setting and really turning it down (or simply off). But with that distraction out of the way the picture is again, top-notch.

I do notice a little bit of “blooming” on some white-on-black images (like credits), but it is very minor and doesn’t detract from the picture on normal scenes at all. I also notice a bit of a viewing angle issue… the absolute best picture is when you are at 0° dead center straight on. Veer much at all and you’ll see a little drop in contrast. But that remains steady until you are way off to the side. If you never saw the image at the dead-center angle you wouldn’t mind the quality at the angles but when you see the difference you’ll be reminded again. Again, neither of these is severe enough to make a difference in the overall experience.

Lastly, the setup is pretty easy. Some things are a bit too hidden in the menus. For example, when I was experimenting with different auto-motion settings I had to push a lot of buttons between attempts. But I guess they can’t make all the features available at the top level. Best of all, the ability to rename the input sources is a nice touch (so the babysitter doesn’t have to remember that ‘Video-4′ is the Wii).
